About VanDerEng B.V.
At VanDerEng, we work every day on smart identification and labelling solutions that are used worldwide. From plant labels in horticulture to wristbands at events and industrial labels for heavy industries our products help organisations manage, identify, and communicate their processes more effectively. We have been doing this since 1894, with the down-to-earth mindset of a family business and the innovative drive of a modern manufacturing organisation.
Within our team, we combine technical expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurship. We develop and produce the majority of our products in-house, allowing us to move quickly, test new ideas directly, and offer customers tailor-made solutions. Innovation, quality, and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do.
Working at VanDerEng means working in an organisation where initiative is valued, ideas can quickly become reality, and where you work alongside colleagues to build products that are used around the world. In an informal working environment with short lines of communication, you will have the space to take ownership and make a real impact.

This role requires a strategic and commercially minded thinker with an eye for detail, who sets up products correctly from A to Z and ensures they are sales-ready for the sales team and optimally presented across various webshops. The Product Manager combines product knowledge with online marketing insights (SEO and SEA) to maximise visibility, findability, and conversion.
Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy: Developing and executing a targeted product strategy that aligns with business objectives, market developments, and customer needs.
- Product Management (A to Z): Creating, managing, and optimising products within our ERP system Odoo, including accurate master data, pricing, margins, variants, logistical data, and commercial information.
- Product Introduction & Time to Market: Translating new product ideas into concrete propositions and ensuring a fast and successful market launch with a short time-to-market.
- Commercial Optimisation: Ensuring products are sales-ready for the sales team by providing clear product information, USPs, pricing strategies, and supporting materials.
- Webshop Management: Ensuring products are presented correctly, completely, and attractively across multiple webshops, with consistent content and optimal categorisation.
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): Writing and optimising SEO-proof product descriptions, metadata, and category content to increase organic traffic and improve findability.
- Paid Search Advertising (SEA): Supporting SEA campaigns by providing accurate product data, keyword insights, and commercial input for ad optimisation.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitoring product performance (revenue, margin, conversion, returns) and implementing data-driven improvements in assortment, pricing, and positioning.
- Innovation & Market Insight: Identifying market developments, competitor activity, and new opportunities, and translating these into concrete product improvements or introductions.
- Collaboration: Working closely with sales, marketing, purchasing, logistics, and development to deliver an integrated and consistent product experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
- MBO4 level of work and thinking in commercial economics, marketing, business administration, or a relevant field.
- Demonstrable experience in product management, e-commerce, or a comparable role.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Odoo (product creation, attributes, variants, price lists, inventory management, webshop integrations).
- Knowledge of SEO and SEA and an understanding of how product content contributes to online findability and conversion.
- Experience writing commercial and SEO-optimised product descriptions.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into concrete improvement actions.
- Commercial acumen and an understanding of pricing strategy, margin structure, and positioning.
- Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on swift execution and results.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect different departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
