Case Study: Plus Retail | Mastering Return Flows with Smart Labeling

The Challenge

Following a major merger with COOP, the number of Plus supermarkets doubled. This led to a massive increase in returnable packaging (emballage). Plus Retail needed a way to make these return flows uniform, scalable, and fully traceable. While the scanning hardware was already in place, they lacked a standardized labeling solution.

The Solution

Collaborating with the technical and logistical teams at Plus, we developed a durable loop lock label specifically for roll cages. Each label features a unique barcode linked to a specific supermarket location.

The Result

Each supermarket now orders its own dedicated set of labels. Upon arrival at the distribution center, barcodes are automatically scanned, and the return volume is instantly recorded in the system. As a result, the return flow is now 99.9% traceable and fully manageable.
