- Common uses: Industrial labels, logistics, labelling for outdoor or harsh environments
Direct Thermal Printing
Prints directly onto heat-sensitive material that darkens when exposed to heat. No ribbon or ink needed.
- Advantages: Simple process, low operational complexity, ideal for high-volume, short-lifecycle labels
- Consider: Sensitive to light, heat and abrasion, not suitable for long outdoor use
- Common uses: Receipts, shipping labels, temporary identification
Laserprinten
Toner is fused onto paper or laser-compatible labels using heat.
- Advantages: Fast, sharp output, low cost per page at high volumes.
- Consider: Colour saturation is lower than inkjet for graphic use. Not all label materials are compatible.
- Common uses: Invoices, shelf labels, documents, large monochrome batches.
Inkjet drukken
Liquid ink is sprayed onto paper or label material via print heads.
